Welcome to Edge City Patagonia
Applications are open! Connect and build for a month in an awe-inspiring mountain town in the Andes.
If you had one month, surrounded by high-agency peers in one of the most inspiring places on Earth, what would you build?
From October 18 to November 15, we’ll build a popup village in San Martín de los Andes, a stunning lakeside town at the edge of the Andes. Think of it as a campus for the future: a month-long experiment designed for collaboration and creation while pushing frontier fields forward.
This time, the village will center around residencies — self-organized groups of 5–50 people who co-live and collaborate around shared themes. But you don’t need to join one to participate. Many people come solo or with a friend and form their crew on the ground.
Once you’ve bought a ticket, you’ll get first look at all new residencies as they’re confirmed over the coming months.
Keep reading for everything you need to know: how to join, what daily life looks like, and how residencies work.
"Edge City did an excellent job integrating diverse participants from all kinds of backgrounds: technical and non-technical, crypto, biotech and culture, young and old. I learned a lot from my time there” — Vitalik Buterin
Why Patagonia?
In San Martín, we’re exploring what happens when cultural momentum grows in a place defined by focus, nature, and spaciousness, rather than proximity to big cities or existing scenes. This is the kind of rare and beautiful setting that will shift how you think, who you meet, and what you decide to make next.
Edge City Patagonia brings together natural beauty, global connectivity, and a generative ecosystem of talent you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
Patagonia is a landscape built for ambitious thinking – vast, elemental, and grounding. It sharpens focus, expands perspective, and resets your sense of what's possible. In San Martín de los Andes, you’ll find strong infrastructure, modern coworking, and the space to go deep on hard problems with a community built for momentum.
It’s also unusually well-connected: with its own airport, strong infrastructure, and a growing tech scene anchored by BIT Cotesma, a public innovation hub and coworking space in the center of town. Some even call it the Silicon Valley of Patagonia.
And the timing couldn’t be better. Our village flows directly into Devconnect Buenos Aires, offering a focused, high-trust environment for deep work before a major global gathering.
Live Well, Build Well
Edge City is built for full-spectrum living. Healthy food, mountain air, daily movement, new ideas, meaningful connection and consistent personal growth shape the rhythm of each day.
A day might look like:
Morning: Group workout and cold plunge in the lake, followed by breakfast with fellow builders
Midday: Walk to the coworking hub; swap ideas with someone from the Tools for Humanity residency; settle into deep work alongside 10 other residents
Afternoon: Take meetings outside, go for a hike with someone you’ve been dying to learn from, or attend a workshop
Evening: Join a lakeside asado with local food, and fall into conversation about governance, health, or what someone’s prototyping next as you transition to a late night sauna session
Weekend: Dance nights, mountain adventures, and slow meals with new friends and locals
We’re building a village where it’s easy to feel good, do your best work, push your edge and imagine new ways to live.
San Martín is in shoulder season during October — with crisp spring weather, affordable housing, and fewer tourists. The earlier you book, the better your options will be.
What is a Residency?
At the heart of the village are residencies: temporary homes built around a shared theme, with groups of 5–50 people co-living and collaborating in a lodge or small hotel.
Some residencies focus on intense sprints. Others take a more reflective pace. Many combine both. Past Edge City residencies have led to open-source tools, research collaborations, venture funding, and lifelong friendships.
We provide the infrastructure: coworking, wellness, demo days, connective tissue, and a public calendar that lets you host events and tap into others.
We’re already working with a few early organizers and will be announcing confirmed residencies in the coming weeks. Confirmed residencies will be shared as they’re finalized — ticket holders will get early access and first dibs.
If you have an idea of your own, we welcome experiments across science, software, community, and culture. Apply here to propose a theme, bring a group, and co-create part of the village.
Here are a few example residencies to spark ideas:
Biohacking in Nature – regenerative health labs, cold plunges, circadian design
AI + Neurotech – brain-computer interfaces, multimodal AI, and experimental tools
Civic Tech Hackers – voting systems, public goods infrastructure, and digital democracy
Multigenerational Futures – rethinking learning, parenting, and care
Art at the Edge – immersive installations, AR/VR rituals, and creative experiments
Governance Games – live simulations of new coordination systems

How to Participate
Apply now to join Edge City Patagonia. If accepted, you’ll get a link to purchase your ticket ($1,000/month or $500/week). Once you've secured your spot, you'll get early access to all confirmed residencies as they’re announced.
You don’t need to be in a residency to attend — many participants come solo or with friends and find collaborators on the ground.
Note: This is the most reliable way to attend. Your spot is guaranteed once accepted and paid, even if your residency placement happens later.
Scholarships
If cost is a barrier, you can apply for a scholarship using the same form. Your application will be shared with residency leads, and if selected, your ticket will be sponsored.
Note: Spots are not guaranteed!
Local Tickets
Reduced rates are available for LATAM and San Martín residents:
LATAM: $500/month or $250/week
San Martín: $500/month or $250/week, plus free access on Wednesdays
Local applicants are reviewed for fit before approval. San Martín residents are also prioritized for scholarships and residencies.
A Call to Experiment
Edge City Patagonia is a space for real-world experiments. This is the place to prototype a product, test a cultural norm, or imagine a better way to live.
You can start a residency. You can come solo. You can bring your friends. Just don’t miss it!
We’d love to see you in Patagonia.
